EVE WinterFest Returns to Downtown SLC for a Seventh Year, December 29-31

Salt Lake City (December 3, 2015) – In its seventh year, EVE Winter Fest is a three-day celebration of art and culture in the urban center to ring in the New Year. This community-wide event is unique Salt Lake City and Utah. The event culminates in a unique countdown experience on the 31st to live music by the New Orleans based Stooges Brass Band and a light show centered around America’s largest MirrorBall.

New & Noteworthy for 2015:
-Expanded hours at the Salt Palace(family hour 3-6 pm) on the 31st
-Nate Wade Subaru All Access Pass gets ticket holders one admission to each of ten venues.
-Jazz game on the 31st included for three-day EVE ticket holders.
-MirrorBall countdown has been improved this year, with the ball to drop at CountDown Stage at midnight on the 31st. See the MirrorBall at ground level on the 29th and 30th.
-A new installation at the Salt Palace, The GameRoom, will provide oversized games like Jenga, as well as a Mine Craft project through a partnership with Neumont University.

More than 40,000 attendees are expected to take advantage of a $20 three-day pass to access ten downtown venues. Three-day passes for children between 3 and 9 years old are $15. Single day tickets are available for both adults and children. In its seventh year, EVE organizers have committed to continuing fan favorites from past EVE celebrations, most of which are designed to offer warm, indoor experiences at the Salt Palace. BounceTown, a “town” of inflatable houses children and kids at heart can play in, as well as the BallRoom, featuring a lasers, lights, music and beach balls. 

The WorldStage, also located indoors at the Salt Palace, showcases Utah’s best cultural performers including Utah Children’s Theatre, Kenshin Taiko drummers, Rumba Libre and theatrical performances sponsored by the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Theater. On the 31st, the Big Band Stage comes to life with swing dancing and headliners Caleb Chapman and the Crescent Super Band.

“Downtown SLC is the perfect backdrop for a memorable celebration. EVE Winter Fest, a three-day celebration with concerts, DJs, grown-up drinks and engaging activities for kids and families,” said Jason Mathis, executive director for the Downtown Alliance. “EVE is unique to Utah. And it is unique for being the only community event sponsored by both the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, as well As City Weekly and Squatters Craft Beers.”

Experience a wide range of art exhibits, film screenings, comedy shows, live music, ice-skating, cultural performances and family programming throughout downtown with the Nate Wade Subaru All Access Pass. With the pass, free admission is included at Clark Planetarium, Off Broadway Theatre, Broadway Centre Cinemas, Discovery Gateway and The Leonardo (Mummies exhibit has an upgrade). Ice skating at Gallivan Center is offered at a 50% discount. The venues are limited to one admission per person during EVE. Temple Square, City Creek Center and UMOCA are always free, but will have extended hours and programming during EVE.
