Call for Nominations
Exceptional contributions to Salt Lake City's downtown will be recognized in the 20th Annual Downtown Achievement Awards, presented by the Downtown Alliance. Awards will be presented during the Alliance's 2015 State of Downtown on July 10, 2015.
Who is eligible?
Awards will be presented to a group, company or individual who has made a significant contribution to downtown, helping to build a more dynamic and diverse community that is the regional center for culture, commerce and entertainment. The contribution must be for accomplishments located within Salt Lake City's Central Business District (located within the boundaries of 400 South, 700 West, North Temple Street and 300 East).
Award winners may include commercial, residential and retail developers, small businesses, business associations and districts, downtown-based companies and nonprofit organizations, government organizations and officials, performing arts groups along with individual artists, musicians and other performers, sports and entertainment organizations, downtown residents, visitors, commuters and other supporters.
2015 Achievement Award Winners:
- Robin Hutcheson Salt Lake City Transportation Director Robin Hutcheson is a force for good in Salt Lake City, and The Atlantic recently said that she is "revolutionizing" transportation. As a female leader in our City, Robin is leading a male-dominated industry with such quiet confidence and effectiveness. She has effectively made our streets safer for all modes of transportation- a daunting yet important task in creating a more dynamic urban center.
- Babs DeLay Babs DeLay is a downtown champion and passionate advocate for living, working and playing in the heart of Utah's urban center. As chair of the Downtown Merchants Association, she works closely with retailers and other downtown businesses to represent their interests, helping to keep downtown's economy booming.
- Broadway Media Group Broadway Media developed a state of the art property at the corner of Broadway and West Temple, which house its six radio stations and digital division. The recently open space also includes a theatre for performances and events, as well as a cafe.
The awards will be presented at the State of Downtown, held July 10th, 2015 at the Depot. The event begins at 10 AM, with a lunch reception to follow in the Grand Hall at the Union Pacific Depot.
