Downtown SLC Open Streets: Closed to cars. Open for fun.

It’s time to come out and play in the street! Once again, Downtown SLC’s Main Street will be closed to cars and transformed into an urban playground with a pedestrian promenade each, Friday and Saturday from noon to 1 am this September and October. Restaurants, bars and shops between 400 South and South Temple will extend their service onto the sidewalks. Musicians and other artists will welcome everyone each night.

Open Streets is for everyone. Main Street will have ADA ramps and access to all businesses.

You will find outdoor dining, music, buskers, dancers and all kinds of friendly folks. Main Street is Salt Lake City's urban living room, where world-travelers and SLC locals become convivial neighbors.

Barricades will block auto traffic on Main Street in both directions between Main Street and 400 South from noon until business close (around 1:00 am) on activation days Friday, Saturday. Cross streets will remain open.

Astra Tower

The Astra Tower at nearly 680,000 square feet and 39 floors of luxury apartments, communal amenities and private parking, the new downtown icon will exceed 400 feet in height will contribute to the downtown skyline. The program includes 377 studios, one, two- and three-bedroom apartments crowned with two levels of exclusive penthouse units. The residential program will have over 40,000 square feet of communal amenities on three different floors. Amenities will include an elevated urban park on top of the seven-level parking structure, a full-service fitness center with a separate multipurpose studio and a club house with chef kitchen. A mezzanine work lounge with conference rooms will be located on level nine. Avia Apartments

Avia is a mixed-use, mixed-income project set to be complete in spring 2021. It will feature luxury apartments and amenities at the top of the Salt Lake City market. The community will include on-site parking, mountain views, and an international food hall. Avia is part of a new way to live and work in the heart of Salt Lake City, one that combines residences, shared workspace, and retailers to serve as a cornerstone of the area’s ongoing growth. Avia anchors a $124.3M mixed-use, transit-oriented development from Domain, with a prime location along the TRAX line and steps from the city’s landmarks. This convenient, comprehensive, energy-efficient, and exceptionally-designed community will be capable of supporting a wide range of residents with new apartment communities and businesses when complete in spring 2021.

The Central West Apartments is a new mixed income affordable housing project that will offer studios, 1, 2, 3, and 4 bedroom units. There will also be a small retail area on corner of the building on 200 South and 600 West.
