A CURATED CALENDAR FOR THE CURIOUS SLC EXPLORER
See full event listings at The Blocks Arts District

The Delta Center is performing tiny miracles almost every day this time of year. They just loaded out millions of pounds of dirt for Monster Truck, then laid the floor for the Jazz, and tonight rearranged the building for the Utah Hockey Club. There is a great story in the Tribune on how a 40-person crew turns over the arena every day. Go see their work, and the UHC tonight, we see a few tickets as low as $41.

GLOW at Gallivan Center brings the imagination of In Theory Art Studio to The Gallivan Center for an over-the-top holiday lighting spectacle! Open every day and free, come experience this wonderland Downtown!

And just like that, we’re back to the Utah Jazz at the Delta Center. They take on the Miami Heat at 7. We see seats as low as $18.

Utah Symphony tackles Brahms’ Violin Concerto and Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances, the final masterpiece he ever wrote. One of the world’s top violinists, Augustin Hadelich joins the orchestra for this special presentation. Fri 7:30, tickets start at $23

Watch Britain’s National Theater present Nye, broadcast live at Broadway Cinema. The story follows Aneurin “Nye” Bevan, considered a visionary political colossus who fought Churchill in order to create Britain’s National Health Service in 1948. Noon.

Michael Sanders, the organizer of the Urban Flea Market always says it is the best place to find a one night stand. But there are hundreds of other treasures to pursue. Out-of-print vinyl, antique toys, and vintage signs are what we’re always hunting. The Gateway, 10-4pm $3.

After a significant remodel, The Tasting Room has reopened as a gorgeous wine bar. This one-time event space is now a sanctuary for syrah, a chapel to chardonnay, a pantheon for pinots. No, seriously, they have THOUSANDS of bottles that start at $5 a glass to bottles that go for, well, if you have to ask…

There are also a few small plates like onion, gruyere, and thyme flatbread and, with a wild presentation, a bread and beef tallow candle.

They open every day, 4-12 Sun-Thurs and 3-1 Fri and Sat, 357 West 200 South.
