Jesus Christ Taxi Driver plays at Coterie (the new Good Grammar) tonight with Sleep Cult and Molotov Dress. Listen, we don’t name bands, we promote them. Punk Rock is alive and well with JCTD, and we think Coterie–with plant and plywood ambiance–is the perfect stage for this band.
Classical music’s most celebrated star plays Abravanel Hall for just one night, backed by the Utah Symphony. See the winner of 19 Grammy Awards(!) for just $40!
God Is a Scottish Drag Queen is a one-man show coming to Rose Wagner. Listen, we don’t name performances, we promote them. Mike Delamont skewers the holidays that will trigger a sleigh-load of laughs. You might not be surprised this show comes with a warning of ‘adult themes.’ $40.
For the first time in 10 years, the Utah Symphony will perform Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons. Our opinion? An epic masterpiece, the apogee of classical music, a zenith of composure… It's astounding that this ode to nature, this ethereal jewel has not graced Abravanell Hall in 10 years. Hear it while you can! (Fri + Sat, $22+)
Remember little Drake Bell on those Nickelodeon shows? Welp, he’s all grown up now, living in Mexico and making fun, highly danceable pop music. See him at Soundwell, $22
Bill Hader as Stefon says: “The Nutcracker has it all: a lost little girl, a creepy Uncle, a booze-driven first act with a rat war, followed by a psychedelic story that visits every part of the globe with the highlight being tiny baby dancers in bee costumes emerging out of a two story drag queen. You must see The Nutcracker at Capitol Theatre!”
The Downtown Farmers Market is perfect place to find a gift for just about anyone on your list! 10-2, north of the Olympic Fountain.
Our buddy Ali Vallarta with City Cast Salt Lake visited every bar in Salt Lake County last year… EVERY SINGLE ONE, that is 216! She is obviously our hero. Ali has a quick review of this year’s most decked-out holiday lounges Downtown. Ruin, Varley, and Flanker are especially noteworthy festive spaces that need to be experienced in-person. Read Ali’s notes to see which cozy bar fits your vibe!
We want to feature your fun!
