A CURATED CALENDAR FOR THE CURIOUS SLC EXPLORER
See full event listings at The Blocks Arts District

Head down to the Gallivan Center for $10 skate night, 4-10pm. While you’re there, wander around the immersive sculpture garden, Glow, from our friends at The Blocks Arts District and In Theory Art Studios!

Heads-up Dead Heads! The Pranksters, Utah’s own Grateful Dead tribute band performs at The Depot, tickets are just $13.

The rodeo is not for the faint of heart. Especially bull riding, where a rider has to stay on a 2,000 lbs beastly bull for at least eight seconds. (Imagine being that kid's mom or dad!) Anyway, if you’ve got the stomach for it, check out the dust, sweat, and tears at the Delta Center, $21.

Ballet West made a huge investment in their new Cinderella production, opening tonight at Capitol Theatre. Monolithic sets and bright new costumes were shipped from London’s famed Royal Ballet, which will just heighten an already sparkling show. The Ballet West Orchestra sets the scene with Prokofiev’s popular score.

The Winter Roundup Returns!
Imagine skiers, pulled by horses, flying down West Temple through a snowy obstacle course! It’s called Skijouring and it could be an Olympic event someday. (We really think snoweo is a better name, but no one listens to us). Not only is it crazy fun to watch, it is free! From the energetic team at Visit Salt Lake don’t miss this one-day event. 9-5 for line dancing, food trucks, and music. The main event is is 1-4pm.

Where are you watching the game? Plan now! Flanker for DJ Fiefia (plus 60 TVs), Gracie’s for J’Rad Cooley. Green Pig for the Chile Verde Nachos, Dave and Busters for the 40 foot screen + kid friendly. Other great options: The Break, The Bruce.

Drink of the Week

We bashfully must admit that we wandered into Sayonara for the first time last week. Damn, what took us so long!? Enter the door and fall into a Tokyo night market, a truly immersive, unabashedly fun, and grown-up experience awaits… beginning with the complex and easily drinkable Kohiba Old Fashion made with Toki Whiskey, Cognac, coffee simple syrup and walnut bitters.

It was a quiet Tuesday and Oliver, the affable bartender and I had an hour-long conversation about nightlife and traveling. He’s young, lived around the world, and was proud to say he loved living in SLC. Hear, Hear, Sir!

I reached out to Ashton Aragon, the owner, and sheepishly admitted our error by not frequenting the bar in the first year of opening. He was just happy that we enjoyed our experience. Ashton also let me know they’re launching a game night on Tuesdays that will feature a Super Smash Bros tournament; and, even bigger news, they’ve opened a new dance floor Friday and Saturdays with rotating DJs.

Arigato, Ashton and Oliver, we will return soon!

We want to feature your fun!
