A CURATED CALENDAR FOR THE CURIOUS SLC EXPLORER
See full event listings at The Blocks Arts District

Winner of the Pulitzer Prize, three Tony Awards and 11 nominations, Next to Normal is the rock musical that addresses depression, suicide, drug abuse, and the underbelly of suburban life.
Cristin Carlin, Downtown resident, Friend of TWD, and Broadway aficionado reports this production has great music and strong talent, especially in the singers’ rock vibrato voices! Nine performances, Eccles Black Box, $30

Pagliacci has it all: comedy, murder, love triangles, secret romances, and–at its heart–gorgeous and sumptuous music. Utah Opera performs this tragic opera at Capitol Theatre for just three more performances!

The documentary, Still Working 9 to 5 explores what has and what has not changed for women over the last 40+ years since the release of the comedy 9 to 5 in 1980. Watch a free screening at the Downtown Library, 7pm, followed by a moderated discussion, led by that dreamy Doug Fabrizio from KUER.

Walk into Harmon's cooking class as a novice and exit a grill master at Chef Casey’s Steak & Chop class. You’ll learn how to sear Wagyu steak and make a concord grape pan sauce, brine a long bone Kurobuta pork chop and many other tips of the trade of smoking and searing meats! ($110, 6pm, limited availability)

It is one of our favorite festivals! The St. Patrick’s Day Parade starts at 11:00am and the paddy keeps going till 5! The two blocks at The Gateway are closed and there are pop-up bars all along the parade route. Check out The Hibernian Society for a list of musical acts, events, and food options. We’re not your mother, but Irish you wouldn’t drink and drive.

Want to keep the green going? London Belle, Flanker, Dave and Busters, and probably most Downtown bars will have live music and special events today. Check out The Blocks Arts District Downtown event calendar to map  your pot of gold!

Rambin Roads is the rightful heir to the Lambs Grill location. It’s a family-owned operation with 35 years of restaurant experience at their five Utah locations. As dads used to say, they have a “stick to your bones” menu; think meat lovers omelettes, country fried steaks, and Monte Cristos. The open faced turkey had nostalgic flavors and came with real mashed potatoes. The philly steak sandwich was delicious and so filling, we could only eat half. For the quality and service, prices seemed very reasonable, around $12-$14 a plate.

Their soft-opening hours are 7am- 2pm this week, but they’ll test a 7am-10pm model starting Tuesday. We’ve been wanting a diner downtown and we could not have asked for a better suitor.

We want to feature your fun!
